Denkmalgeschützte Stuckdecke zu verschenken (Willhaben.at)

https://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/d/denkmalgeschuetzte-stuckdecke-zu-vergeben-251919414/

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_denkmalgesch%C3%BCtzten_Objekte_in_Klosterneuburg).

lg

Le Dimore del Quartetto

The European Historic Houses Association has a great opportunity for your members! We have concluded a partnership with the Italian association Le Dimore del Quartetto and we are looking for private owners of historic houses willing to engage with the initiative.

Le Dimore del Quartetto supports excellent young string quartets and promotes living cultural heritage in historic houses, thus relaunching their role as patrons of the arts.

Concretely, private owners willing to join the network host musicians for 7 days for free in exchange for concerts (that can be either private or open to the public), by providing accommodation for 4 people, a rehearsal room and a venue for concerts.

In exchange, the Quartets perform concerts in the house, which creates value for the house, fosters gatherings and enables private owners to showcase to an interested audience the other activities which are carried out in the house (guided tours, exhibitions….). It is also a great opportunity to unite again historic houses and the living arts.

Set up in partnership with the ADSI (our Italian Association), the project currently gathers 79 houses and organized 80 concerts and residencies in 2017; and is gaining momentum in Italy with increased press coverage.

We are looking to expand this initiative to other European countries, and we are thus calling on you to circulate the information to your members.

Interested private owners should express their interest by December 8 by sending an email or calling the Secretariat of the Association.

You will also find below to this email the brochure of Le Dimore del Quartetto with further information on the initiative.

Best regards,

SAVE the House of Georges Bizet in Bougival, near Paris!

Today, as France, Europe and the entire world commemorate the birthday of Europe’s great composer, Georges Bizet, Europa Nostra and our President, Maestro Plácido Domingo, wish to invite you to support the crowd-funding campaign to save the House of Bizet in Bougival, near Paris in France.

As you read in the Summer edition of our Newsletter, this campaign was launched by the European Music Centre and the City of Bougival on 21 June 2017 in Paris. The launch coincided with the 20th anniversary of the European Music Day.

Given the symbolic European value of this initiative, Europa Nostra and our President exceptionally decided to give it our high patronage. Watch the video message which our President recorded for the launch of this crowd-funding campaign.

After four months, we are pleased to inform you that so far, 950 people have already supported the project with a total amount of almost €125,000 raised.

Additional contributions are needed and more than welcome!

BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR GEORGES BIZET

A personal message from Maestro Plácido Domingo, President of Europa Nostra

Dear Friends of Europa Nostra,

On 25th October, we celebrate the 179th birthday of one of Europe’s greatest composers, Georges Bizet.

Throughout his short life of just 36 years, Bizet created true marvels such as his masterpiece, Carmen, the world’s most performed opera. I myself had the privilege of singing this sublime piece on over 200 occasions, in addition to having directed it close to 50 times over the course of my career.

Now it’s up to us – the friends of Europe’s cultural heritage – to offer Georges Bizet a worthy birthday gift: let us help the City of Bougival and the European Music Centre to buy and restore Bizet’s beloved house in the charming little town of Bougival on the banks of the Seine near Paris, where he composed Carmen and sadly, passed away at such a young age.

Let it finally be the Home of Bizet and his Carmen! We owe it to him, after all that he has given us…

I am counting on each of you. Let us be numerous in our contributions. Any amount, however small, is more than welcome!

Thank you!

Plácido Domingo
President of Europa Nostra

State of the Union speech

Europa Nostra’s reaction to President Juncker’s State of the Union speech

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker addressed the European Parliament in Strasbourg today in his annual State of the Union speech, taking stock of Europe’s political situation and outlining priorities for 2018, the year which coincides with the European Year of Cultural Heritage.

Juncker’s third State of the Union speech was delivered under the motto “wind in our sails”, calling the current situation a “window of opportunity” to shape the future of Europe. When outlining his “personal scenario number 6” for the future of the European Union, the EC President stressed his firm “love for Europe”: “Love for Europe because Europe and the European Union have achieved something unique in this fraying world: peace within and outside of Europe. Prosperity for many if not yet for all. This is something we have to remember during the European Year of Cultural Heritage. 2018 must be a celebration of cultural diversity”. The European Parliament welcomed the reference to the European Year with a strong applause.
