 Call for Candidates for the Selection Committees and Call for Entries – European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2027

To all Council Members,

Dear all,

We are pleased to inform you that the Call for Candidates for the Selection Committees 2027–2028 (deadline: 21 June) is open for submissions.

The members of the five Selection Committees, one per category of entry, play a crucial role in the Awards Scheme, as they are responsible for evaluating all eligible entry dossiers in their respective categories and selecting a shortlist of entries.

As of the 2027 edition, new operating rules have been introduced. New members of the Committees may be appointed for a renewable term of two years, with a maximum of two consecutive terms (4 years in total). Former members may be reappointed for one additional term (two years).

If you would be interested in joining one of the Selection Committees, or if you know someone who could be interested, we would be delighted to receive the candidature.

Meetings will take place both online and in person, so members should be willing to travel when required. For the 2027 edition, meetings are expected to take place between October and November 2026.

Applications can be submitted by 21 June via this online form.

 

Call for Entries 2027

We are also very pleased to announce that the Call for Entries for the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2027 is officially open, and we warmly invite you to help us spread the word far and wide.

Launched by Europa Nostra and the European Commission in 2002, this prestigious initiative identifies and celebrates the best practices in the heritage field across Europe. 

We are calling on you to help us reach the very best candidates by sharing this opportunity within your networks.

What you can do

Please help us amplify this Call for Entries by:

  • Forwarding the official Call (attached) to your colleagues, partners, and relevant institutions
  • Posting on your social media channels using the hashtag #EuropeanHeritageAwards and linking to: www.europeanheritageawards.eu/apply
  • Publishing the announcement on your website or in your newsletters
  • Liking, sharing, and reposting our messages on InstagramFacebookLinkedInX and Bluesky

These sessions will provide clear and practical guidance on the application process.

The deadline for submissions is 7 September 2026.
